ENTRY INFORMATION

Passports and Visas

ETIAS is currently not in operation. If this information changes, we will update this page - Last update: August 15, 2023

Citizens of the European Union, Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland only need their identity documents to enter Portugal.

For countries that are exempt from visa requirements to enter the Schengen Area, for stays that do not exceed 90 days, a passport valid for a period of more than three months after the end of the stay is required.

In accordance with the Convention implementing the Schengen Agreement, passengers traveling to or from another Schengen State do not need a new visa as this is considered to be an internal flight.

Citizens from other States need a visa to enter Portugal (see list), which may be requested from the Portuguese Consulate or Embassy in the respective country, for stays of up to 90 days.

Visa Invitation Letters

A Letter of Invitation is proof that your abstract submission and/or registration is accepted by the conference organizer. However, it does not guarantee you a visa.

For those who require a visa, please note that COSYNE, Inc. has no control over the visa application process or the decision of the visa adjudicator in the embassy or consulate. The conference cannot be responsible for actual visa issuances. The process length varies from individual to individual, so you are strongly advised to start your application as soon as you can.

Confirmed authors in need of a Letter of Invitation to assist in the visa application process, please fill out the Letter of Invitation Request Form.
Non-author participants need to register first before we can issue an invitation letter. You can register here.
