SUSTAINABILITY

COSYNE 2025 is committed to reducing the carbon footprint of the event. Following the conference, we will support the Bayano-McGill Reforestation Project.

This action-research initiative is a collaboration between McGill University, an Indigenous women’s NGO, and the Emberá traditional authorities in eastern Panama. Over the course of three years, participating landowners have planted 44,500 trees. The project is closely aligned with McGill’s research and educational mission while fostering sustainable livelihoods and cultural revitalization in local communities. Learn more about the project here.

HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE:

Within the registration, you will have the option to *compensate for the CO2 emissions of your travel to the conference. You can give any amount you want. Participants are encouraged, however, to contribute at least $35. This contribution is optional and separate from the registration fee and will be noted on your registration receipt as such. Calculate your Carbon Footprint for your trip.

*Please consult your institution/organization in advance to determine if the expense is reimbursable.
