Talk Title
Facial expression analysis on manifolds
Talk Abstract
Representing and reasoning about facial movement, and in particular facial expression, may be considered as a problem in manifold learning and analysis. Dynamic facial expressions are viewed as probabilistic transitions on a generalized manifold, and recognition involves assessing the posterior probabilities along the expression path. We will describe a framework that combines such a manifold-based approach with a partial FACS model for expression recognition.
