Discrimination of Complex Natural Sounds in Songbirds: Neurons & Behavior
Talk Abstract
I will talk about our ongoing work discrimination of complex natural sounds e.g., species specific songs in songbirds with a focus on relating neural activity at the cortical level to behavioral performance. We have devised spike pattern based neurometric approaches which are able to account for a bird’s behavioral discrimination performance where more traditional neurometric approaches have failed.
