Abstract
Understanding cortical function is a central goal in neuroscience, achieving which will probably require answering the following questions. What is the canonical cortical circuit? How many cell types are there? How specific (or random) are synaptic connections? How plastic and variable is the cortical circuit? With the advent of new and powerful experimental techniques this goal may be within reach.
This workshop will focus on the latest results on cortical circuits and their implications for theoretical models of cortical function.
