Abstract submission, Cosyne 2008

To present a talk or poster at the main meeting, you must complete the following steps:

  1. Prepare your one-page extended abstract, following the instructions provided below.

  2. Create an account and submit your abstract at cosyne2008.confMaster.net    You and your co-authors will receive an email confirmation. You may act as "submitting author" on only one abstract (although you may appear as a co-author on as many as you like). Revisions may be submitted any time before the submission deadline of 2 December 2007, 11:59PM PST.

  3. The submitting author for each abstract must register for the meeting, which includes payment of registration fees, by 31 Jan 2008.

The complete meeting schedule will be published online by 15 Jan 2008.

Abstract preparation instructions

Abstracts must fit onto a single page, with the following specifications:

Title: only first word (and proper names) need be capitalized.

Separate paragraphs with a blank line, and do not indent the first line of each paragraph.

Figures/tables, equations references, and acknowledgements may be included, but must fit within the specified margins. Use numerical labels (eg [1]) for references. Figures may be color (for web viewing), but make sure they are reasonably viewed when printed in black and white (as they will be in the program).

Do not include page numbers or other labels (e.g., "COSYNE-2008").

Your submitted file may be in Adobe PDF or Microsoft Word format. PDF is preferred, and can be generated from most word processing programs. Below are example template files that you should use in preparing your document:

If accepted, your abstract will appear in the program booklet and the online proceedings as submitted. Please, double-check it for errors!

Please contact the Program Chair with questions.

Abstract Evaluation

Submitted abstracts will be evaluated by members of the Program Committee, listed below. Evaluations are based on four criteria: (1) topic relevance; (2) novelty/originality; (3) significance; (4) clarity.

Approximately 20 of the top abstracts will be chosen for oral presentation, based on considerations of program quality and balance.

We anticipate that a relatively small proportion of abstracts (~10%) will be rejected. The remainder will be scheduled for poster presentation.
